The Small Business Administration (SBA) has named SCORE Detroit, serving southeastern Michigan, the "U.S. Small Business Administration's Michigan SCORE Chapter of the Year" for 2020.

The local chapter was honored at SBA's 16th Annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Awards. The awards gala was hosted virtually on July 28, 2020, at 6:00 pm.

"Your impressive accomplishments are truly worthy of this recognition," wrote Constance Logan, District Director for SBA, in a letter to chapter co-chairs Donna Hover-Ojeda and Armando Ojeda.

"We are thrilled to accepting this honor on behalf of SCORE," said Donna Hover-Ojeda. "It truly is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our selfless volunteers, from mentors to subject matter experts, and from workshop facilitators to our volunteers providing internal infrastructure support to our chapter's operations. It is definitely a team effort...and a team-earned recognition."

Armando Ojeda added, "We sincerely thank our local SBA representation for your organization's ongoing support and assistance helping our local small business community prosper and thrive—in good times and in challenging times alike."
